In the new League of Legends Arena mode, players pair up in teams of two and face off in rounds of combat. Players can choose Augments to power up as they play the game, buy items and grow stronger until the last team standing is declared.

Combat takes place on 4 maps, each with a different visual theme. Soul Fighter champions will also make cameo appearances to help out, or harm, with different effects. Evelynn grants all player camouflage, while Jhin will fire shots at each player. All 10 Soul Fighter champions have a chance of showing up.

Each round consists of a shop phase and a combat phase. You'll gradually get more gold each round, with Augments offered on rounds 2 and 5. Teams start at 20 health and will lose health if they lose combat. This penalty gradually increases too.

Power Flowers are scattered around each map, and will grant healing, shielding or cooldown refunds to players. A ring of fire will also spawn on the map after 40 seconds, limiting the size of the battlefield and burning any champions left standing.

Augments are a new feature coming to League of Legends Arena mode. These are similar to TFT Augments, which are boons of different rarities that grant various effects to the player.

Augments range from simple stat boosts to more interesting effects. "Castle" grants you a new summoner spell that will swap you and your teammate's location. Another gives you "Blade Waltz", a new spell that makes you untargetable while dashing at enemies and damaging them. You can get Red and Blue buffs, more health, increased size and more crazy effects.

You can reroll your Augments to see three new ones twice per game. Rarity ranges from Silver to Gold to Prismatic, with Prismatic being the strongest.

League of Legends Arena mode will release on July 20th and run for just over a month until August 28th.
