It's the end of an era, but it's time to officially wave goodbye to FIFA, (as a football game anyway). Electronic Arts has now announced EA Sports FC will take over from the franchise we came to love, with a new brand and logo.

Having been the frontrunner in football games since the 94' version launched on the Sega Mega Drive, FIFA has seen annual releases dominate the market year after year.

Now, EA has distanced itself from the association with FIFA as the governing body of world football. It's rebranded its games to EA Sports FC, as it's announced partnerships with a string of top-tier competitions such as the Premier League, Women's Super League, La Liga, and more.

As of the 2024 instalment, FIFA has officially rebranded to EA Sports FC, which has now revealed a new logo and identity.

The logo includes the classic player icon triangle that has become synonymous with the franchise ever since it scrapped the circle underneath the chosen players' feet.

Nick Wlodyka, Senior Vice President & General Manager at EA SPORTS FC, said "EA SPORTS FC will be a symbol for the sport, a symbol of innovation and change, and we’re energized to show our fans more about the future in July."

EA Sports FC announce league partners such as Premier League

Ahead of its launch, EA Sports FC has announced partnerships with more than 19,000 fully-licensed players, 700 teams and 30 leagues.

Some of football's most iconic leagues have renewed their partnerships with EA, meaning the Premier League, Barclays Womens Super League (UK), National Womens Super League (USA), La Liga, Bundesliga, and CONMEBOL will all be among the playable league's when the game comes out.

More details about partners and the new rebrand will be revealed in July, with the release window expected to stay in September. This means the all-star launch will coincide with the start of the European football calendar.
