Overwatch 2 Mischief & Magic: How to play Prop Hunt
Click to enlargeThe primary draw of the Mischief & Magic event is a brand-new Prop Hunt-style gamemode with an Overwatch 2 twist. Overwatch 2's Prop Hunt consists of two teams of five that take turns playing as the rogues and the knights. Teams swap sides each round, and to achieve victory, your team must be the first to win three rounds!
In Overwatch 2's Prop Hunt, rogues hide, and knights hunt. For knights to win, they need to find all the rogues before time runs out. Rogues, on the other hand, win if even just one of them avoids discovery!
Rogues can't fight, but they can jump, double-jump, and wall-climb to find discrete hiding spots and avoid getting tagged by knights. Of course, Rogues can transform into props too, but the exact prop you get is random, and if you stay still too long, your location will be revealed by an obnoxious whistling. Lastly, if things take a turn for the worst and a knight finds you, rogues have access to a stun that they can use to make a getaway attempt.
Knights must use their eyes and ears to locate rogues among the dozens of assorted props spread across the map. Knights can tag rogues by using their melee attack or Swift Strike ability, or even their ultimate if it's ready! As a knight, explore the map and check everywhere for out-of-place objects — all while keeping your ears open for whistles.

Click to enlargeThe Mischief & Magic event offers ten challenges that Overwatch 2 players can complete to earn exclusive rewards, plus a ton of Battle Pass XP. Some of these challenges are tied to Prop Hunt, while you can progress others in any of Overwatch 2's gamemodes.

Paragon of Mischief
- Complete six Mischief and Magic Event Challenges
- Reward: Spiritwarder Epic Ana Skin and 25,000 Battle Pass XP
First Class Knight
- Earn ten eliminations as Knight Genji in Mischief and Magic
- Reward: Player Icon and 2,500 Battle Pass XP
Top Rapscallion
- Survive for 300 seconds as Rogue Kiriko in Mischief and Magic
- Reward: Player Icon and 2,500 Battle Pass XP
Aspiring Hero
- Complete six games. Wins grant double progress
- Reward: 2,500 Battle Pass XP
Epic Hero
- Complete 18 games. Wins grant double progress
- Reward: 2,500 Battle Pass XP
Peak Mischief
- Complete six games of Mischief and Magic. Wins grant double progress
- Reward: Weapon Charm and 5,000 Battle Pass XP
A Knight's Duty
- Earn one elimination with Dragonblade as Knight Genji in Mischief and Magic
- Reward: Player Icon and 2,500 Battle Pass XP
What a Scamp!
- Stun six enemies with Flashbang as Rogue Kiriko in Mischief and Magic
- Reward: Player Icon and 2,500 Battle Pass XP
Local Hero
- Complete 12 games. Wins grant double progress
- Reward: Roadhog Voice Line and 2,500 Battle Pass XP
Legendary Hero
- Complete 24 games. Wins grant double progress
- Reward: Junker Queen Voice Line and 2,500 Battle Pass XP
