Jedi: Survivor is finally just around the corner, and with Star Wars celebration taking place in London over the weekend, the hype for the game has never been higher.

Its predecessor Jedi: Fallen Order was buggy at launch, but when it came around, it proved itself to be a massively satisfying lightsaber-duelling action game that, as many games based on nerdy properties have before, sucked players into its world. Or in Star Wars' case, worlds.

Those worlds are adored and iconic, so it's important that the game gets them right - especially as it has been revealed that a fan-favourite locale will be appearing in the game.

Coruscant is playable in Jedi: Survivor

The final trailer for Jedi: Survivor has been revealed just before its release, and it takes us through a new moment in the game's story that we haven't yet seen - and it takes Cal Kestis to a planet we haven't seen in his story yet.

The trailer reveals Coruscant is playable during the course of the game, not long after the game's director Stig Asmussen revealed at Star Wars Celebration that the planet would appear.

"We're taking our Metroidvania approach a step further and, just to talk about another planet, we're going to have Coruscant as well," Asmussen mentions. "I think there's been a lot of speculation on that, and [I'm] just confirming it here."

But, it might not be all that it seems.

Coruscant announcement is backtracked

Interestingly, after this announcement, Star Wars EA team member Andy McNamara jumps to Twitter as fans interpret this announcement as meaning that the planet will be freely explorable - and shuts down those claims sharpish.

"To be clear, Stig never claimed Coruscant was a 'freely explorable open world,'" says McNamara. "He only confirmed it as one of the destinations in the game. Survivor has amazing planets to explore and our biggest environments to date, but wanted to be clear on what was said."

It's an interesting claim that wouldn't be made if the game was in fact freely explorable - but its appearance at all is a good thing.
