Titan Quest 2: Gameplay details, platforms, trailers & everything we know

In a surprise move, THQ Nordic is bringing back the Titan Quest series with a second instalment, so here is everything we know about the gameplay of Titan Quest 2.

To get you up to speed, the original Titan Quest game is a top-down ARPG that’s similar in style to the Diablo series, but instead takes on a theme of Ancient Greek mythology. That title saw a remaster in the form of the Anniversary Edition in 2016. As such, its popularity has clearly proven cause to develop a sequel.

It’s still early doors, but here is absolutely everything we know about Titan Quest 2 so far, including any gameplay details and all of the trailers rounded up in one place.

Is there a Titan Quest 2 release date?

At the moment, there is currently no release date for Titan Quest 2. Given that the game has only recently been revealed to the public, it’s fair to assume that this game is a little way off just yet.

However, you can wishlist the game on Steam if you’d like to receive regular updates. We will also update this guide when we learn more.

Titan Quest 2 returns to the ancient lands of Greece, picking up where the first game left off. With top-down ARPG gameplay, you can expect to face off against plenty of classic mythological monsters. While we haven’t seen any gameplay footage yet, early screenshots show enemies like giant scorpions, crabs, griffin-like enemies, and even humans too.

In a preview for Titan Quest 2, the developer explained that the combat is meant to be more methodical and less of a ‘click-fest’ compared to other ARPGs. However, it will still be fast-paced.

There’s a flexible character system this time around, letting players pick two masteries at the same time. This should let you play as a hybrid class that lets you switch up your playstyle on the fly.

Titan Quest 2 will be playable in co-op online multiplayer, letting you fight against big bosses or explore the world as a group.

Of course, there will be plenty of loot to find and collect. This will also feed into the gameplay loop as you continue to explore and upgrade your character.

As for Titan Quest 2 story details, we know that the narrative will heavily revolve around fate and what that means in Greek Mythology. Nemesis, the Greek Goddess of Retribution serves as the game’s main villain, corrupting the Threads of Fate and punishing those who stand in her way.

That’s all we know so far about the story so far, but we’ll almost certainly learn more before the game releases.

We have only had one trailer for Titan Quest 2 so far, and it came in the form of a CGI trailer. This introduces us to the new story of Titan Quest 2, and doesn't show us any gameplay. It is a cool spectacle, though.

This was revealed at the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase in August 2023.

Titan Quest 2 is currently set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There is no word yet on whether the game will release on last-generation consoles or on the Nintendo Switch.
