EASFC 24 Ultimate Team new card design: Animated backgrounds & confirmed card types so far

The new EASFC 24 has not only brought a new name to the table but will also see the cards in Ultimate Team redesigned for the first time in years. Every year there are minor tweaks to the design of cards, with the images also being updated annually, but EASFC 24 will see them completely overhauled in a major way. 

Ultimate Team was first introduced in FIFA 09 and has remained one of the most popular game modes since its inception. There are few things that are as exciting for an Ultimate Team player then opening up a new pack, seeing a new colour spill the screen, bouncing around the room and filling it with light. This time around we also have the added bonus of five new leagues being introduced, with the women's leagues added to the game. 

So, let’s dive into the new card designs in EASFC Ultimate Team as well as what card types have been confirmed so far.

EASFC 24 Ultimate Team's new card design explained

The fresh cards, as can be seen above, continue to show off the stats on the bottom of the card. However, now they are across a horizontal line in a singular row instead of across two vertical rows.

The Nation, League, and club the player represents are also at the very bottom of the card as opposed to on the top left of the card where it used to be kept. The position and rating of the player have remained in the same place, while the chemistry style on the card has been moved to the top left beneath the position.

The promo the card represents will still dictate the background of the card, as well as the logo at the top of the card.

EASFC 24 Ultimate Team animated backgrounds introduced

EASFC 24 has also introduced animated backgrounds for the first time. This means that when a card has a dynamic background, not only will it appear differently, but the background will also be reactive depending on the type of card.

The effects on the card will also exceed the edges of the card for the first time, so they're really going to pop.

Which cards are confirmed for EASFC 24 so far?

So far, there haven’t been many cards confirmed in EASFC 24 - although the regular suspects like Team of the Year and the Birthday event will no doubt re-appear.

We have seen a few cards confirmed though, so here are all of the card types we have seen confirmed so far in EASFC 24:

• Gold 
• UCL/UWCL Hero 
• Icon 
• Team of the Week (TOTW)
• Nike Campaign 
• Evolutions
