Fortnite capture point fix makes you work better as a team
Frequent updates are pretty crucial to the forward motion of Fortnite, and while the title has to maintain an absurd number of complaints from players, Epic Games has to move fast in order to meet some kind of balance in the game.
Though the current season of the battle royale favourite is entering its final phases, there are still a few minor gameplay updates to come. Notably, nerfing the newly popularised Mammoth Pistol - but one new change has arrived in the game that's going to bring your squad together to work as a team. Finally.
Fortnite has finally improved its capture points
It feels like some time since Fortnite capture points were introduced, a new way to add some kind of ownership to POIs on the huge sprawling map. A capture area was added to numerous positions around the map, offering players a scan of the area and a collection of loot for completing the flag-capturing process.
Annoyingly, it took just as long to capture with your friends in the affected area as it did alone, and it was deeply frustrating for squads who are excited to rotate elsewhere. It looks like change is finally here, as Twitter account HappyPower pointed out that it's npw easier to capture the point with teammates.
Alone it still takes 45 seconds, but with a full squad on the point, it'll only take you a total of 15 seconds to lock it down. This is hugely appreciated when it comes to the moving Loot Island, too, as the loot it drops is second to none. Now, players can finally link up and get it all quicker.
Fortnite nerfs Mammoth Pistol
Click to enlargeAs one door opens, another closes. While Fortnite capture points are better than ever, Epic Games has wasted no time in nerfing the newly popularised Mammoth Pistol massively.
The pistol could deal big damage with a single bullet in its chamber but has now been nerfed. It will deal "slightly reduced damage at long distances" and "slightly reduced headshot damage."
It's disappointing for fans who have just gotten used to the weapon, but thankfully, Fortnite is one of those games with a truly massive arsenal. At least the Thermal DMR is back. We don't know what we'd do with ourselves if that left again.
