The noblechairs EPIC Spider-Man Edition review: Save the city in style

"Give me seats of Spider-Man." While there's a myriad of Spider-Man merch out there to splash the cash on, the gamers among you have likely seen an influx of Spider-themed chairs.

If you managed to get your hands on Sony's limited Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5, you might be in the market for something to sit your pretend Peter Parker posterior in. Now, you can swing into action with noblechairs.

While noblechairs has long placed its claim in the market of themed gaming chairs, the release of Spider-Man 2 in 2023 seems like the perfect opportunity to revisit your choices. Of course, it's not just PlayStation owners who can enjoy the comfortable ride of the EPIC Spider-Man Edition, with everyone invited to take a seat.

Firstly, the aesthetics. Although many might think of the classic red and blue when it comes to our wall-crawling hero, the EPIC Spider-Man Edition goes for a Miles Morales-inspired colourway. Given the hero's growing popularity and new-found fame in Sony's Spider-Verse movies, we can see why noblechairs is giving him his time in the spotlight. 

The red and black are accented with white stitching to get your Spider-Sense tingling, but that's just the start of this sleek design. The EPIC Spider-Man Edition has 1.5mm thick vegan PU leather to mimic Spider-Man's suit, and given the wear and tear your chairs can go through, that's surely a good thing.

As with all these chairs, expect your EPIC Spider-Man Edition to arrive in a massive box. Thankfully, there are relatively few parts and the instructions are a breeze to understand. The seat is typically heavy, so unless you're Rhino, you'll want to get a hand lifting it.

Still, the EPIC Spider-Man Edition was easy to throw together in about half an hour, only leaving me with the question of where to put the giant box. Wheeling it to my desk, it instantly popped against the rest of the mundane office chairs.

Slipping into spandex

The EPIC Spider-Man Edition has an integrated rocking mechanism and allows you to find the perfect position for whatever you desire. Whereas some gaming chairs might swallow you, the EPIC Spider-Man Edition is a more rigid affair that offers plenty of support.

A flat seat and back leave you sitting upright, but if you're trying to improve your posture like me, it's a big deal. Moving from a more cushioned seat like my old rig to this one took some getting used to, but now, I wouldn't go back. Having 4D armrests is also handy for finding that dream position for an extended gaming or writing session.

Not just for gaming, the EPIC Spider-Man Edition boasts superior ergonomics and easy adjustments via a rotary dial, meaning it's earned official office chair certification in accordance with DIN EN 1335. Still, having been awarded the "Best Gaming Chair" four times by the European Hardware Association at Computex, it also boats that accolade.

Some might laugh that you'd pick a chair purely on its look, but if you're spending this kind of money on a gaming setup, you might as well go for something a little different. Following past collaborations like the DOOm and Skyrim runs, noblechairs has some of the biggest variety on the market for gaming fans and beyond.

Up there with the Darth Vader-inspired chair in all-black, the Spider-Man Edition is one of the best thought-out special edition chairs on offer from noblechairs. There are some great Marvel designs on the site, with the Black Panther chair also being one to look out for. If you want a statement piece for your home, then park(er) your backside in the EPIC Spider-Man Edition.
