While popularity can be a helpful metric, it doesn't directly correlate with which Legend is strongest in the game.
The majority of the time, it's better to choose a character you're comfortable using and who fits your personal play style.
The data below is collected by Apex Legends Status and is based on the 17.8 million players in their API database. It's worth noting that these percentages do not measure the entire player base, but it's a big enough sample size to gather a general impression of overall Legend popularity.

3. Pathfinder

Although the Forward Scout has no abilities that deal damage, his Ultimate is an invaluable rotation tool, and his Tactical provides incredible mobility.
Not only that, Pathfinder is just extremely fun to play, and with such a high skill ceiling with his grapple, a huge portion of the community dedicates themselves to being a Forward Scout main.
2. Octane
Click to enlargeOctane is sitting at the number two spot, maintaining an impressive 9.5% in the Apex Legends pick rates and snatching the position back from Pathfinder.
His Stim Tactical and Launch Pad Ultimate are not only brilliant for aggressive plays, but they're also useful rotation tools when attempting to reach the final ring.
Now Season 18 is has kicked off, it'll be interesting to see whether Octane can steal the crown back from Revenant.
1. Revenant
Click to enlargeAs expected, Revenant's rework has arrived in Season 18 with a bang, skyrocketing him up to the top of the pick rate charts with a mighty 13.8%.
His powerful and aggressive kit is solo-carry orientated, rewarding those who are willing to take gunfights with their opponents regularly.
Of course, it's hard to tell whether Rev Reborn will maintain the top spot, or if his popularity will decline as the season goes on.
