The Pokemon TCG has been a staple part of school playgrounds for over two decades now, and it doesn't seem to show any signs of halting its dominion any time soon - but there's a difference between those who keep the card game financed and those who keep its communities alive.

While we all love to collect cards, it's only a small subset of fans who actually play the game itself. Although there's a lively community for it, many fans just buy packs to see how many fancy, shiny, cards they can pull. And luckily for them, there are more of those to come in the form of Paradox Pokemon.

New Pokemon TCG packs introduce Paradox Pokemon

The creatures that tread the line between the past and the future in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, better known to many as the elusive Paradox Pokemon, are gearing up to make their debut in the Pokemon Trading Card Game. If you want to know more, they're also bringing a holographic flair with them.

A new trailer has revealed that Pokemon of both Ancient and Future variations will be coming to the game, including the likes of Scream Tail, Iron Bundle, and Iron Moth. Plus, there are new EX cards in the shape of Roaring Moon EX and Iron Valiant on the way to the game.

It's certainly a fascinating addition to the Pokemon TGC, especially as the new Pokemon types have been confusing for some - but that's not all.

The trailer also reveals that Ace Spec cards are set to return to the trading card game in 2024. The Ace Spec cards are classed as item cards that are so powerful that players are only allowed to have one in their deck.

With only 13 to choose from, we don't see Ace Spec cards that often - but with their return, we expect to see them much more frequently in the game. Change is a-coming to the Pokemon TCG, and as Scarlet & Violet continue to bleed into the rest of the series, we're here for it.
