How to get mini goats & mini sheep in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch

If you're gearing up to play The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, you'll need to know how to get mini goats and mini sheep on your ranch.

These adorable pets are a new addition coming with The Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion and can be useful additions to your lot, especially if you also have The Sims 4: Cottage Living installed in your game.

Where to get mini goats & mini sheep in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch

You can buy mini goats and mini sheep several ways in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch. You can click on one of the various Community Boards in Chestnut Ridge. This will bring up the option to 'Call Ranch Animal Exchange'. From there, select the option to 'Buy mini goats & mini sheep'.

Community Boards can be located within the build-and-buy catalogue and placed on your lot for ease if you wish.

You can also adopt a mini goat or mini sheep by using the function on your Sim's mobile. Simply follow these steps:

• Click on the mobile icon at the bottom left of the screen.
• Press the home icon.
• Select 'Call Ranch Animal Exchange'.
• Select 'Buy mini goats & mini sheep'.
• Scroll through the list of breeds available and click on the one you like.
• Once you've selected your mini animal, it will be sent to your inventory.
• Simply, select the mini animal and choose the option to place them in the world to get them onto your ranch.

There are many different breeds of mini goats and mini sheep to choose from, you can even get vividly coloured animals like blue or green mini sheep. The cost of the mini goats and mini sheep depends on the breed you select with rarer breeds like the Black Mini Sheep costing up to 2,000 Simoleons.

There doesn’t seem to be a limit to how many mini animals you can have at once, unlike horses they do not take up a slot in your household.

What do mini goats & mini sheep do in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch?

As confirmed via The Sims 4 Horse Ranch livestream earlier this July, if you also have a copy of The Sims 4: Cottage Living installed, it is possible to collect wool and milk from your mini goats and mini sheep.

The by-products will operate in a similar way to cows' milk and llama wool in the game, meaning you can use the milk for cooking and the wool for crafts or for selling.

Otherwise, you can still Shear sheep, but the products will be automatically sold for Simoleons.

Mini animals will also eat weeds and bugs so they can be a helpful addition to any Sim's garden.

Mini animals will require attention, cleaning and grooming and feeding like other pets, you can hire a Ranch Hand to help with this.

Mean-spirited horses may scare the mini animals, Sims can also choose to scare the animals which will result in a percentage chance of them producing manure.

The more you look after your animals the higher quality manure they will produce; this will then result in higher quality fertilizer for gardening.

Ranch Animal Days

You can also now host Ranch Animal Days as a new goaled event, during which you can invite neighbours round to your ranch and show off your mini goats and mini sheep.

The event will cost 100 Simoleons to host, depending on how successful you are you can receive donations from attendees afterwards to go towards the cost and maintenance of your ranch.
