Finding the Final Fantasy 16 A Hill to Die On location is a must for FF16 players looking to complete all hunts on the Hunt Board, earning all the rewards and achievements that come with them.

Unlike other quests in the game which tell you where to go, you have to locate each Notorious Mark yourself, making this a tough challenge if you don't know where you're going.

Thankfully we've got all of the information you'll need to find it, so, let’s get into the exact FF16 A Hill to Die On location in order to find Fastitocalon.

As shown by the circled checkmark in the map image above, the Final Fantasy 16 A Hill to Die On location is northeast of the Velkroy Desert Obelisk fast travel point in the Dhalmekian Republic - specifically just beyond the dead-end cliff after The Bandit’s Bed.

Once you arrive at the Velkroy Desert fast travel point, traverse east across the area, then head north towards the marked location. As you approach the large, round boulder at the dead end - the Notorious Mark, Fastitocolan, will emerge from its rocky shell and the boss fight shall begin.

How to beat Fastitocalon, the A Hill to Die On hunt boss

Despite being able to find the Final Fantasy 16 A Hill to Die On hunt location, Fastitocalon still won’t make for an easy Notorious Mark to defeat. The Rank B level 34 boss’ biggest weakness is that it’s quite a slow attacker, but any moves that hit deal serious damage.

For instance, its spin attack can be difficult to dodge if too close - the Adamantoise will then quickly reposition itself to strike again. Secondly, its long-range Water Cannon attack can hit you with multiple massive blows if you don’t try to evade it in time.

On top of all that, Fastiocalon boss only seems to be vulnerable at its head - making regular and Eikon ability melee attacks ineffective if struck from the side.

So, the key to winning this boss battle and completing the FF16 A Hill to Die On hunt is taking your time between dodging Fastitocolan’s attacks, positioning yourself to get close enough, and striking with your AOE (area-of-effect) attacks - Ramuh's Pile Drive and Judgment Bolt, or Titan’s Earthen Fury.

Whilst recharging, you can utilise Limit Break to deliver extra damage with melee and magic attacks at Fastitocalon’s weak point wherever you can. Eventually, victory in the fight will be yours.
