Having laid down his gun for the last time in a competitive Call of Duty setting, Seth "Scump" Abner is hot on the heels of some of Apex Legends' most fearsome players. He's headed out into the Outlands in the midst of the Modern Warfare 2 offseason.

With MW2 on the downward trend after the conclusion of the Call of Duty League season, Scump has rallied the CoD advocates and swapped over to Apex Legends Ranked until the day comes when Modern Warfare 3 is available.

But not only is Scump simply playing, but he's also frying. He's confessed a new addiction to Apex Legends, and now, the Apex 'CEO' Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen has claimed that after two weeks, Scump is already better than semi-pro player Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff.

ImperialHal says Scump is already better than NIKCMERCS at Apex Legends

A mere few weeks after his first game on Apex Legends, Scump is already soaring through the Ranked leaderboards (although this is easier than you'd think in Season 17) and is just a few games away from achieving Master ranks.

The former CoD esports phenomenon has also now got to a point where he can play with other Apex Legends pros such as ImperialHal and Christopher "sweetdreams" Sexton.

So after joining in a round of games with Scump, ImperialHal has now claimed that "Scump's definitely better than NICKMERCS. I think I can already say that."

Hal and NICKMERCS have had quite a friendly rivalry in recent months and are often jibing with each other. This was backed by Hal adding, "I don't think Nick would get mad at me for saying that, it's Scump and we've got an old man."

ImperialHal claims 'old man' Scump still has a lot to learn about Apex Legends

Hal also joked that Scump is also in the retirement home and an "old man," but said that he still has a lot to learn about Apex Legends if he wants to start moving up through the hierarchy.

"It's fun playing with new players because they don't know what they're doing for half the time," he concluded. NICKMERCS has been giving the professional side of Apex Legends a good graft in the last year, with his Tripods team often performing well in the North American ALGS heats, but never quite making it to Playoffs.

Should Scump carry on this trajectory, it might not be long before he makes an esports return by taking his Bangalore to the next level.
