If you've finished The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, put down the Master Sword, put your feet up, and enjoy a well-earned rest - it's probably been a long slog. Just when you think you've seen all there is to see out there in Hyrule, the Tears of the Kingdom Randomizer brings chaos back to the realm.

Despite Tears of the Kingdom being the biggest Zelda game to date - and dwarfing Breath of the Wild - things are still reasonably linear as we activate Skyview towers, save the Sages, and tick off the temples. The Tears of the Kingdom Randomizer turns it all of its head.

What is the Tears of the Kingdom Randomizer?

YouTuber Waikuteru shows off the Tears of the Kingdom Randomizer in all its random glory. Alongside enemies spawning where they shouldn't be, the items you get from chests are completely random. You'll also find a bizarre array of fused weapons to help stock your arsenal.

The best bit of the Tears of the Kingdom Randomizer is that random weapons and items will spawn into your inventory, meaning you could find yourselves with a valuable tool to beat that hard boss. Then again, you could end up with just another Boko Shield.

Waikuteru released a Randomizer for 2017's Breath of the Wild, but as you'd expect, this is the souped-up version. This is just the start of the mod, as Waikuterui is planning to introduce a Goal Mode that won't let you continue until it's completed. Also, yes, it's possible to get the Master Sword on the tutorial island.

Could there be a Tears of the Kingdom DLC?

The question now is whether there will be a Tears of the Kingdom DLC. If you've completed the game, chances are, you've sunk over 100 hours into besting Ganondorf and saving Princess Zelda. Still, that's not enough for many who are hungry for more.

Before Tears released, Nintendo seemingly confirmed the existence of an expansion pass and DLC, although its official announcement is yet to happen. Still, with whispers of an upcoming Nintendo Direct, Hidemaro Fujibayashi could announce one imminently,

As Breath of the Wild came with The Master Trials and The Champions' Ballad expansions, we expect Tears of the Kingdom to go down a similar route - even if there's been no word from up high. In the meantime, you can check out Waikuteru's Randomizer via their Patreon and try it out via Early Access.
