Amouranth calls out Twitch’s biggest ‘sin’ amidst Kick move

Twitch's days as the prime streaming platform might be about to end. It's tougher than ever to decide which platform to pick when starting a career in streaming, and though Twitch is still the giant of the medium, its changes to terms of service and wealth of controversies have convinced users to defect.

While Kick is making some gigantic acquisitions in the form of Felix "xQc" Lengyel and Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa, there's no surprise that users are heading straight there. And now, Amouranth has illuminated her millions of fans as to why she made the change.

Amouranth reveals Twitch's "greatest sin"

In the wake of her bold move over to Kick from Twitch, Amouranth has revealed some thoughts on how the way that the site runs may have played a part in her move.

On Twitter, she has explained what she thinks is the biggest problem with Twitch is, and it all comes down to how it treats its users. She accuses Twitch of trying to "squeeze" creators to fit a model like YouTube - instead of letting them branch out on their own. 

It's fair enough to suggest that Twitch needs to stop treating its users as though they're a part of an entirely different site, as ultimately, she's right that Twitch streamers have smaller audiences. They tend to be much more dedicated, but even so, it's a problem for the site.

Twitch is haemorrhaging its stars

This tweet comes after Amouranth's controversial move to Twitch's up-and-coming rival, which has been a huge kick in the teeth for the former.

For the platform to lose its biggest female streamer to a competitor is an incredibly bad look, and with the likes of xQc heading over, and Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed heading to Rumble, it looks like the departures are really starting to sting with Twitch.

The site will have to do something soon, otherwise fans won't have anyone left to tune into. The streaming contract wars have well and truly begun, and by the looks of it, Kick has drawn the first blood.
